Le titre s'inscrit dans la seconde moitié de la série Trails, qui se déroule à Calvard. L'histoire se déroule en S.1208, un an après Trails into Reverie. Grâce aux réparations d'après-guerre, les états multinationaux de Calvard connaissent une croissance économique sans précédent tout en étant continuellement aux prises avec des troubles publics provoqués par l'immigration et les réformes radicales du nouveau président. Dans un coin d'Edith, un jeune homme travaillant comme Spriggan reçoit un travail particulier qui aboutira à quelque chose de plus grand, affectant l'ensemble de la République.
