Set in modern day London, Savannah Brown plays the “physical manifestation of the Grim Reaper” who’s has a desperate need to experience life and everything that comes with it – but most importantly, drinking wine and listening to The Beatles. During her woes, she meets Martha and Car, a couple struggling with their complicated relationship but are unwilling to talk it out like adults.

I felt deeply moved by this film. Bertie Gilbert has a complex relationship with death and I learned it throughout his films. However in this one, he choose to directly talk about her, give her a face and a personnality, with curiosity, empathy, regrets.
Savannah and Dodie express emotions in a raw way, Dodie being the woman denying adulthood to run away from the possibility of disease and Savannah the jaded entity discovering humans and being sickened of her condition. A very delicate and touching short film, underlined by the music of Tom Rosenthal (special mention to "All of Them Dreams.) with references to the Beatles and a touch of humour, all of this bathing in a soft yellow light, like a faded polaroid.
Gems can be found on the Internet if we are patient enough to look for them, and this one was one of the most beautiful I've found.
