NHL 24 a une grande partie de son gameplay révisé par rapport à NHL 23, y compris de nouveaux mouvements de compétences de contrôle total, un nouveau moteur d'échappement, la fatigue du gardien de but, un système de passes et un contact basé sur la physique. Les nouveaux mouvements de compétence de contrôle total permettent au joueur d'effectuer des mouvements de feinte complexes en appuyant simplement sur un seul bouton. Le nouveau système de passes vous permet de passer le palet à d'autres joueurs en utilisant les quatre boutons du contrôleur. Et le nouveau système de mise en échec fonctionne de la même manière que Bruise Control de NHL 2004. Les contrôles corporels des joueurs sur les bancs et les verres brisés reviennent également dans NHL 24.
NHL 24 proposera par ailleurs un jeu croisé complet pour Hockey Ultimate Team et World Of Chel, contrairement à NHL 23 qui ne proposait que le matchmaking croisé. (Source : Wikipédia)
