At the age of 18, Yokota Shintaro was selected second overall by the Hanshin Tigers in the 2013 draft. He was selected as a starter for the first team in the opening game of 2016 and recorded his first hit, leading everyone to have high hopes for his future. Soon, however, Shintaro began to see the ball as double. The doctor diagnosed him with a brain tumor, a devastating diagnosis for a 21-year-old. Nevertheless, with the support of many people, including his family, mentor, and teammates, Shintaro continued to fight his illness. In his retirement game in September 2019, he performed a miraculous throw back home, electrifying the stadium. But Shintaro's story didn't end there.
